About 'Sota Seashells

'Sota Seashells was born from the friendship of Morgan Zuehlke and Stephanie Rosso, two creative souls who bonded over a shared love of karaoke, library science, true crime, and an endless passion for arts and crafts. After Morgan completed the July 2024 bar exam, the pair decided to escape to Captiva Island, FL for some well-deserved sunshine and seashell hunting. Their peaceful getaway took an unexpected turn when Hurricane Debby made an appearance. After the storm passed, the two friends set out to explore the beach, collecting the treasures the waves had left behind.

When they returned home to Minneapolis, MN, Morgan and Stephanie got to crafting with their newfound seashell collection. They were particularly captivated by the simple beauty of coquina shells, tiny clams whose butterfly-like appearance inspired the creation of their very first designs—the Coquina Pearl Locket Charms and Coquina Butterflies. With roots in the land of 10,000 lakes, they lovingly adapted a childhood tongue twister, making it their own: "she sells seashells by the lakeshore."

As they crafted, their hearts remained tied to the shores of Captiva and Sanibel Islands, places deeply affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton after their visit. Watching the devastation unfold was difficult, knowing how much inspiration they had drawn from their time there. In launching Sota Seashells, Morgan and Stephanie hope not only to share their ocean-inspired creations but also to make a difference, inviting their customers to join them in supporting hurricane relief efforts.

Sota Seashells is more than just a collection of jewelry—it's a celebration of friendship, creativity, and the beauty of nature, all while honoring the resilience of the places that inspired it.
